Merry Christmas/Watch Your Back From The McDonalds/Knights Of Darkness

It's that time of year once again, when Americans unite to seek revenge on the U.S. Postal Service for delivering bills all year long, by saturating them with Christmas cards and glossy photos of kids.

This holiday season we take pity on the servants of Uncle Sam and share with you a family update without risk of aching backs or paper cuts.

Here are some photos of kids to get things off on the right foot:

Since we have no children of our own, we teamed up with the local teenage hoodlum organization Knights of Darkness to share heartfelt season's greetings.

Joe continues to coach basketball as a volunteer at Normal Community High School this season to pursue his passions for long bus rides and body odor. Dena just finished her successful year term as president of the Kiwanis Club and continues to support their Builders Club for junior high students. The Knights have been active in the community as well, redecorating dozens of moderately-lit public structures and previously clean surfaces with vibrant colors and profane designs.

Dena's career as a self-employed graphic designer continues to roll along, most recently editing a book by a Bloomington author, and handles all marketing aspects for the First Farmers State Bank. Work at State Farm has brought new adventure for Joe this year too, as he added the training of six new employees to his responsibilities and celebrated his 18th year with the company. Business was good for the Knights as well, taking in 10% more cash than last year thanks to Grand Seer Voltor's strategic decision to target small businesses.

Joe was introduced to the world of theater in 2012, playing the roles of Corny Collins in Hairspray, Sohovik in Damn Yankees, and Dr. Thomas Raventhorne in The Raventhorne Chronicles. Dena had loads of fun taking a mission trip to Reynosa, Mexico to help design a mural for a deaf school (all schools are technically deaf, but at this one so are the students). The Knights' annual Festival of the Damned to induct eight new recruits was as fun as ever, peppered with the screams of fresh tats and piercings in sensitive places.

Our spirituality's at a high point. Dena's back in the study of God's Word through Bible Study Fellowship. Joe joined some of his theater friends in a Catholic contemporary band for six months. The Knights are eagerly preparing for the ritualistic sacrifices of the Day of Darkness (December 21). On an unrelated note, our prayers have been answered as several pesky squirrels and aggressive dogs in the neighborhood have disappeared.

We're so thankful to our family, friends and coven for their love, support and feral souls this year.

Merry Christmas and watch your back!

Dena, Joe, and the Knights of Darkness
