"There is nothing stronger than gentleness." - Abraham Lincoln
When I surveyed the Leadership McLean County class last week about the traits that they thought to be most important in a leader, "patience/flexibility" got more first-place votes than any other.
Could you imagine what a different national psyche we'd have if "patience/flexibility" were cited as the top quality to describe our leadership in Congress? For the most part our only power to influence such a change comes in the voting booth. But locally, whenever that temperature or voice starts rising, a spritz of mental gentleness might be enough to improve your day.
