Chocolate Wisdom

The other day I was eating one of those pieces of Dove chocolate that prints nuggets of wisdom inside its tin-foil wrapper. Recently it was this:

"The more often you praise and celebrate, the more things you'll have to praise and celebrate."

I'm on board with that. Even if gratefulness doesn't actually increase the amount of good things in your life in a karma-esque way, it heightens our awareness of all the things that are currently there, which is just as good.

Yet I do believe, as many churches do, that God smiles at the sight of grateful people in creation. If I were God, I'd be more inspired to nourish plants that are blooming most brightly. Our indebted smiles are that light.
