If you don't pay your condominium fees for, say, two years a pretty good-sized balance accrues. As treasurer, that means I file a lien against the property at a cost of $483. It's a legal defense so that if you foreclose, we are in line to receive our payments, once more primary creditors like your bank are paid off, if anything is left. You pay us back the $483, with interest.
So, you know... pay your condominium fees on time! Or else I'll do like I did today, documenting officially that $5,000+ is owed.
