"When did you actually discover the lump?" her doctor asks softly.
The patient replies, absently, I don't know. It's been a while."
The doctor responds, "That sounds frightening."
The patient answers, "Well, yeah, sort of."
"Sort of frightening?" the doctor asks.
"Yeah," says the patient, "and I guess I'm feeling like my life is over."
"I see. Worried and sad, too."
"That's it, Doctor."
