Final
PEORIA - It wasn't a vintage performance by Jalen Brunson and the Stevenson basketball team.
It didn't have to be.

Brunson recovered from a slow start to score a game-high 21 points and Stevenson put the clamps on Bolingbrook in the second half of its 63-43 victory in a Class 4A semifinal on Friday night at Carver Arena.
The Patriots (29-3), third in the state last year and second in 2013, will take on Friday night's Geneva-Normal winner in the title game on Saturday night in hopes of becoming Lake County's first state champion.
Stevenson led by one point after one quarter and four at halftime before pulling away from Bolingbrook (24-7) with an 18-4 third-quarter advantage.
Halftime
Jalen Brunson finished off one of his toughest halves of the season with a two-handed dunk at the buzzer to give Stevenson a 26-21 halftime lead over Bolingbrook in a Class 4A semifinal at Carver Arena.
The Villanova-bound Brunson, Illinois' only McDonald's All-American, scored six points in the half, while Rice recruit Connor Cashaw led the Patriots with nine points and 10 rebounds. Brunson scored 56 points in last year’s semifinal loss to Young.
Prentiss Nixon scored eight points in the half to lead Bolingbrook.
Brunson led Stevenson to a second-place finish as a sophomore in 2013 and a third-place finish last year. The Patriots are attempting to become Lake County's first state champion.
