Thanks for tuning into today's edition of "Under A Tax." We'll go straight to the mailbag.
"Uncle Slam, we're taxed at 20%. This year we made sure to have 6% withheld from our paychecks and nothing from our capital gains (including the sale of grandma's house). For some reason we owe thousands of dollars in tax. Something seems wrong, is it too late to do anything about it?"
Where to start? The fact that you can't do math, or that someone is paying a person of your intelligence enough money to create tax much tax? But the bigger concern at the moment is that grandma is either homeless or captive. If you can just provide me with your home address, I'll send you a couple of visitors with badges and sticks who will know just what to do with you.
