Juvenile Flash Mob Captured After Frenzied Chase Through Park

NORMAL, IL (AP) - Parkside Elementary School's annual fall picnic was disrupted in dramatic fashion when a flash mob of teenagers streaked through it, then led authorities on a chaotic chase through the woods before being subdued. The curious scene began to unfold with clusters of like-colored, randomly numbered boys forming gymnastic circles on the fairgrounds.

Suddenly at 10:30 dozens of packs burst into choreographed streaks, stirring a panic among the confused citizens who in turn dashed for the cover of distant tents.

Authorities responded quickly to the flood of 911 calls from terrified parents, dispelling the plot with police whistles and gunfire. With near military precision, the juveniles massed as a unit and sprinted for the cover of nearby woods. Officers gave chase but soon fell behind or became winded. "I've never seen criminals so young be so well organized," gasped Lt. Chuck Upmuch while leaning against a tree, "or so well conditioned."

Only with the help of FBI files and facial recognition software was the organization's leader identified. Lane Young, the notorious leader of thousands, mastermind of civic unrest and generally nice guy, blended in stealthily with his minions except for brief glimpses.

Within 11 minutes and 45 seconds Young was apprehended, and delivered to a maximum security detention center. Despite the fearsome guards, he continued to show the calm of a person in charge.

Notorious mob family strongman Tyler Heffren protected Young as he conferred with their attorney.

The lawyer strongly agitated that an insanity plea would be Young's best chance for freedom after such a gruesome plot. "Hey, that's not honest!" Heffren interjected.

"You're right buddy," Young concurred. "We play the right way. I'm doing the time."

As Young slipped into his straightjacket, the citizens finally began to re-emerge from the safety of their tents.

He took one last moment to comfort the family patriarchs. "The dream lies with you," he said. "Be strong in it. When I return, we'll be more powerful than ever."

As the armored transport rolled away, the rest were left to ponder a grim future.

The mob issued a statement that their mission will continue, and escalate. Rumors persist that the organization's leadership is already in transition to equally cunning wings of the family.
