I read in Sports Illustrated magazine today where the average man stands 5'10" and has a wingspan of 5'10.5", or slightly wider than he is tall. Whereas the average NBA player's arms are generally wider than that. The ratio of arms to height is about 1.06 in the NBA, versus 1.01 in the average man.
Broke out the yardstick. I'm 5 foot 10 and a quarter inches tall. My wingspan is 6 foot 1 and a half inches. So my ratio is 1.05. Maybe I should try out for the pros.
