Lily Stevens Baptized Into Eternal Beatitude

NORMAL, IL - During the 11:30 a.m. Mass at Epiphany Catholic Church, Liliana Stevens met its first requirement for eternal salvation by participating in the sacrament of Baptism.

The ceremony, including a sprinkling of water as well as affirmation from parents Jennifer and Sean Stevens and the congregation present, was completed without incident.

The Vatican's web site details the importance of Baptism in its Catechism, in part:

1257 The Lord himself affirms that Baptism is necessary for salvation.60 He also commands his disciples to proclaim the Gospel to all nations and to baptize them.61 Baptism is necessary for salvation for those to whom the Gospel has been proclaimed and who have had the possibility of asking for this sacrament.62 The Church does not know of any means other than Baptism that assures entry into eternal beatitude

Following the Mass, disciples throughout the parking lot were seen proclaiming the Gospel.

Lily declined comment, but by all accounts appeared agreeable with the guarantee of supreme blessedness.
