Lying On A Cloud: The Week In Thanks

True to form, the last couple of weeks have been tutoring-heavy and so relatively blog-free. Last week broke a record with 43.25 hours. Then Monday I was booked from 9am until midnight. Another 40+ hours this week. Good news rolled in: MBA student got an A on her project. Calculus student passed her class with 81%. Algebra 2 student got 89% on her quiz. Pre-calculus student got his first test A of the semester. A parent sent me a gratefully-worded letter. For the year we're closing in on 750 hours and more than 80 students tutored. By all accounts, it's been a good year.

Tonight I'm typing this post while lying on our new Tempur-Pedic mattress and pillow. Our sleep is hopefully entering new era of satisfaction.

Dena's surgery went successfully, and thanks to our flexible occupations we're able to handle it easily.

The Cubs had quite the week, gaining a new staff ace and catcher to anchor their steadily-improving ballpark.

The condominium board approved several important measures to improve the property next year; we have a carport light demonstration scheduled for later today, our carports are finished and ready to shine.

One week till winter break!

The fantasy basketball team has surged into first place. I've never had six of the top twenty-ranked players before. Enjoying the view from the crest of the wave while it lasts.

I've been watching a run of Tom Hanks movies on Netflix. On the whole, as a performer and a man, he's probably my favorite actor. We've been lucky to grow up during the prime of his career.

I've been partnered in a tutor-for-massage trade with the parent of one of my students. Everyone's winning in this deal; tutoring-weary neck and shoulders rejoice every week.

NCHS boys basketball team smoked Limestone to improve to 6-0.

Jack won his softball league championship.

Slowly I've been working my running speed up to three miles in sub-nine minute pace.

May this 50-degree snap boost the spirits of everyone in town.
