I'm not often around dancing, though I do enjoy it. The larger point here, I think, is to take a risk.
For me, I could apply this by "Treat a stranger like an old friend." I tend to take the introvert's route and let most opportunities pass to introduce myself to someone new. What adventures have I missed out on that way? This would be a good time to change direction.
